This shit is so sick.  Vinnie Paz from Jedi Mind Tricks links up with the Thorton brothers for the single off his upcoming solo LP: The Assassin’s Creed. I would of never expected this collaboration, Jedi Mind Tricks and The Clipse are on opposite sides of the genre, but have come together to push some dope product to the masses.  This track is a testament to both the underground and mainstream of hip-hop.  New Clipse Album came out today, every song is immaculate, go support those dudes.  I’ll keep ya’ll posted on Vinnie’s new project, hit the link below to hear the track, props to 2bz.

New Track: Young Jeezy ~ “I Got This” (EL-P Remix)

adulttopWow…my favorite underground producer has reached into the mainstream of the trap and pulled out this Young Jeezy gem.  That’s right people, El-p and Jeezy, this shit is ridiculous, off a new compilation being put together by adult swim.  If you like mainstream dirty south music: you’ll like this shit.  If you like underground indie hip-hop, you’ll like this shit.  If you’re a fan of experimental music: you’ll like this shit.  Click the link below to experience this unlikely fusion.

More Curren$y: What Would’ve Happened if He Stayed Young Money?
GhOsT | December 7, 2009 | 4:53 pm

Curren$y & Lil' WayneCurren$y parted ways from the Ca$h Money Click a long time ago, probably based on creative differences, corporate offices constantly delaying his project, and / or not being able to put up with Wayne’s ridiculousness.  I was cruisin through YouTube last night blunted looking for some Curren$y clips and came across this vid of him, Wayne, and a whole bunch of drunken drugged out mufuckers chillin on the Weezy tour bus. Check it out below:

This reminds me of a different time in Wayne’s career, a time with just as much siuzzurp, but a little less rock haha.  So the question is: Where would Curren$y be if he was still signed to Young Money?  How would this have affected the now mainstream Young Money machine? Who knows…all I know is that I love what Curren$y is doing and love a lot of the stuff Wayne’s involved in too.  It’s a combo that i wish was still in existence.  Hopefully one day they will join forces again and produce some dope New Orleans music.  Below is Curren$y’s single off his never released Cash Money effort featuring Weezy and Remy Ma.

New Eminem Track Featuring Dr. Dre: “Hell Breaks Loose”
GhOsT | December 4, 2009 | 6:28 pm
eminem dr. dre ghost factionHere’s a brand new cut off of Em’s new project Relapse: Refill featuring the Compton Doctor himself.  I like this track, reminds me of the good ol’ 2001 chronic days.  This CD drops this month, but I’m really looking forward to Relapse 2 which is set to have some amazing production on it from Just Blaze as well as Dr. Dre. That project is scheduled to drop hopefully Spring 2010.  Check this joint out, and stay tuned for more…pretty obvious that Dre’s lyrics in this one were written by Em.

“nigga skip all the bull shit, red and black jordan number 1’s, im on my bulls shit, hustle like grocery carts, you push it, nigga spend good money on it if its good shit, im on the set wit young roddy on this hood shit, chillin like a villain, hope the popo dont ruin it, chicks dig what i spit, tell me to keep doin it, chicks whipped by the dick, want me to keep doin it, cant get what i get, i cop kicks numerous, limited editions, spitta shop for exclusiveness, fuck fuckin wit fuck boys and they fuckin foolishness, got ya homies watchin ya back like a big booty bitch, cuz ya cant maneuver the mat without losin it, jack boys screamin on ya, makin ya move ya shit, i might see two, but they dont reach in my cooler slick, try to catch a cold, ya catch an uzi clip”

This is just one of the many ill lines that Curren$y has spit for us lately.  Dude has a very unique swagger unlike anybody else in the game right now.  He’s been on a true hip-hop journey; starting at No Limit records back in the day with Master P, then being Lil’ Wayne’s prodigy for years, and then finally breaking off into the independent hip-hop scene to do his own thing.  And yes people, he does his own thing very fuckin well.  There’s one of his tracks in the Crisp New Cuts section for ya’ll to check out, but if you want more I suggest supporting Curren$y’s grind and purchasing his underground classic album This Ain’t No Mixtape by clicking HERE.  In other news, there’s a rumor that he’s forming a group with Mos Def and Jay Electronica!!!…..Wow, stay tuned for more info.

From The Death Row Vaults: Dr. Dre feat. Lady of Rage & Tha Dogg Pound Video
GhOsT | November 30, 2009 | 9:01 am

This video for the Dre song Puffin on Blunts & Drankin finally escaped from the black hole of Death Row Records to the public.  I wonder how much material, music and videos, have still been unreleased and are lying around in some locked up room where Suge Knight used to rule the gangsta rap world.  This video really shows us how different hip-hop was back in the day: the style, lyrical deliveries, attire, and sound all seem so different from our modern Internet influenced hip-hop world.  I always had respect for Kurupt from the Dogg Pound, but this track really showcases his lyrical skills as he raps for most of the track.

Lupe Fiasco Releasing Brand New Mixtape This Thanksgiving
GhOsT | November 23, 2009 | 9:04 am

Lupe Fiasco Ghost Faction

That’s right people, Lupe’s comin with the heat this week.  In the video below he describes his motivation for putting out this tape, focusing on how he thinks he’s better than almost anybody out right now.  This tape is going to be his venue for proving his mastery on the mic.  In all honesty I do feel that he is one of the most talented lyricists out right now.  Very excited for this dope mixtape to drop, and even more excited for his much anticipated 3rd studio album to come out; titled Lasers.
