The Transformations of Slim Shady
GhOsT | December 21, 2009 | 1:49 pm

This pic is hilarious….So Eminem’s Refill has just dropped, the extended version of his Relapse CD that was released earlier this year.  The new songs are pretty good, but nothing special.  I like “Hell Breaks Loose” with Dre, but everything else seems like forced horror rap.  I liked Relapse as a result of it being one of the most incredible lyrical demonstrations that has ever graced the genre of hip-hop.  However, I don’t really find myself bumping relapse anymore, not even one song.  Even though his flow is probably one of the best, the song quality isn’t timeless for me like his older shit is.  I know that Relapse was his way to get back in the game, show his skills, and get out all his feelings after being comatose on xanax for a couple years.  But in terms of a quality album that stands the test of time, Relapse doesn’t cut it.  The rumor is that Relapse 2 is going to abandon the horror theme a little bit and be more of a “real album”.  Em’s working with Just blaze, and there’s a rumor that even Wayne’s gonna be on it. Hopefully Marshall can use his skills to make some more epic music that I can go back to and listen to over and over again like the shit on Slim Shady LP, Marshal Mathers LP, or Eminem Show. Now that Em’s got the drugs out of his system it’s time to create some art and flip the genre on its head like he did 10 years ago.  Here’s a old school Em track from the Infinite LP, this is the kind of quality that never gets old.

New Track: Lil’ Wayne “Drop The World” Featuring Eminem

20091112-REBIRTHWow….this is incredible.  I have my doubts about Rebirth, but this track is pretty amazing.  Wayne is ill and Em is crazy.  People on all the blogs are viewing this like a competition when it simply is just a dope artistic collaboration.  If you don’t like this song and you’re a fan of either of these guys’z previous music you need to fix your ears.  This makes me more excited for Rebirth, showing us that dopeness can still be a product of Wayne’s rock experiment.  In other news Wayne is rumored to be on Relapse 2. UPDATE: Just heard the whole album from the leak, a couple good tracks, but overall the CD is a disappointment.  I”m lookin forward to Carter 4 Wayne and for this rock phase to be put to the side.

New Eminem Track Featuring Dr. Dre: “Hell Breaks Loose”

eminem dr. dre ghost factionHere’s a brand new cut off of Em’s new project Relapse: Refill featuring the Compton Doctor himself.  I like this track, reminds me of the good ol’ 2001 chronic days.  This CD drops this month, but I’m really looking forward to Relapse 2 which is set to have some amazing production on it from Just Blaze as well as Dr. Dre. That project is scheduled to drop hopefully Spring 2010.  Check this joint out, and stay tuned for more…pretty obvious that Dre’s lyrics in this one were written by Em.

Poor Curtis: Album Leak
GhOsT | October 29, 2009 | 9:08 am
50-cent-cries Ghost FactionSo as you may have already heard, 50 Cent’s album Before I Self Destruct that is scheduled to be released on November 23rd has been leaked.  Nowadays, albums pretty much are always leaked before their release date, especially in the Hip-Hop world. However, this LP has leaked almost a month before its release.  This is crazy to me for a couple reasons.  Firstly, Curtis has been working on this album for about a year and a half now if not for longer, and for him his hard work is paid off by how many albums he sells.  This leak will effect his sales dramatically, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he now tries to release the CD early, or frantically puts other tracks on the final copy.  Secondly, who the fuck leaked these tracks?  I’m not a fan of 50, but I kinda feel bad for the guy.  Interscope Records, especially under the Aftermath Umbrella, usually keeps a tight seal on their material compared to other record companies.  It’ll be interesting to see how 50 reacts, and how it may change the dynamics of his project and its release.  50 uses his site to slander his enemies as well as at times leak personal material and songs.  I guess karma is a bitch.  You can find the whole cd online, but here’s my favorite track off it which features Eminem for you’re enjoyment, it’s pretty ill.

Mos Def X Black Thought X Eminem: BET CYPHER
GhOsT | October 28, 2009 | 11:14 am

Here’s the most talked about cypher from last night’s BET awards.  All three of these lyrical masterminds go in hard.  Never thought I’d see Mos, Black Thought, and Em together, but times are changing in the genre.  Seems that Em’s trying to infiltrate the game once again, taking on a lyricist persona more than ever, bringing it back to the Infinite Days.  It’d be nice to see Shady branch out on his records with artists like these, but either way I’m pretty hyped for Relapse 2

Just Blaze & Eminem Cookin Up Relapse 2 in the Lab
GhOsT | October 21, 2009 | 8:14 am
Just Blaze Ghost Faction Usually when we hear that Slim Shady’s working on a new album we assume Dre is doing most of the production.  Turns out that’s not the case for Relapse 2, and the homie Just Blaze is producing the majority of the tracks for the new LP.  This is some exciting shit, especially since Em said this album is gonna be a lot more emotional than the last LP which was just a way for him to show his fans as well as himself that he could still spit on the mic.  I feel that Just’s beats will perfectly compliment Em’s style, and I have a feeling this CD is gonna be a classic.  Em’s hungry, and his recent material shows that he is still one of the most talented MCs in the game right now even if MTV doesn’t acknowledge him anymore.  And for you Aftermath Dre heads don’t fret, Dre has a couple cuts on the album as well.  If you’re not familiar with Just Blaze, here are some of the classics he’s squeezed out of the beat machine over the years for all of us to enjoy.  Relapse 2 is due out next month.
All produced by Just Blaze: Kanye West ~ “Touch The Sky” (Feat. Lupe Fiasco) Cam’ron ~ “Oh Boy” (Feat. Juelz Santana) The Game ~ “Superman” Saigon ~ “C’mon Baby Remix” (Feat. Jay-Z)

Chemical Warfare 2
GhOsT | May 22, 2009 | 11:01 am
Alchemist The Alchemist is cookin some shit up.  I’m more hyped for his new album, Chemical Warfare 2, than most of the LPs that are comin out this year.  Dude is so ill, one of my favorite producers in terms of musical product as well as personality.  Here’s the tracklist for the new album:
1. Intro 2. “ALC Theme” feat. Kool G Rap. 3. “Lose Your Life” feat. Snoop Dogg, Jadakiss and Pusha T. 4. “Chemical Warfare” feat. Eminem 5. “Grand Concourse Benches” feat. KRS-One 6. “Therapy” feat. Evidence, Blu, Talib Kweli and Kid Cudi. 7. “That’ll Work” feat. Three 6 Mafia and Juvenile 8. “Smile” feat. Twista and Maxwell 9. “Keep The Heels On” feat. Prodigy 10. “Gangrene” feat Gangrene (Oh No and Alchemist) Roc C and Crooked I. 11. “Lights, Cameras, Action” feat. Lil Fame 12. “Some Gangster Sh*t” feat. Fabolous 13. “From Now To Then” feat. Jadakiss 14. “On Sight” feat. Dogg Pound and Lady of Rage 15. “Take A Look Back”
That song with Em should be pretty sick, and if shady decides to go on tour this summer Alc will be fondling the turntables since he’s Em’s new DJ.  I’ll keep you all updated if any more new Alchemist tracks drip out onto the web in the next couple of weeks, but until then check out Meth & Red’s Blackout 2, shit is straight fire.

The Game The Game has been quiet for a while, but it seems he’ll be back in the spotlight sooner than we think.  He just started working on his fourth studio album, and seems determined to drop another classic.  Game in my opinion is one of the better West Coast mainstream artists, and has effectively kept his success even after being dropped by Aftermath records.  Dude’s got good style on the mic, and I’ve enjoyed all of his albums.  Check out this new track that gives you a taste of the old-school summer west coast flavor we all love to listen when cruisin in this hot summer weather. There is so much excitement and anticipation in the air you can smell it.  Slim Shady and Weezy both dropped some snippets this morning of some of their upcoming projects.  I have to say that Eminem hasn’t been delivering the heat with these album leaks, but this track’s beat sent chills down my spine.  Besides being amped for that, Wayne comes through with a pretty sick pizza slice of a track that’s probably off of rebirth. Enjoy the food: Eminem ~ “Underground” [Snippet] Lil’ Wayne ~ “Trigger Man” [Snippet] (feat. Madonna…lol) UPDATE: Eminem ~ “Bagpipes from Baghdad”
